ABOUT CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy
is the application of hypnotic techniques in such a way as
to bring therapeutic change. It can be successful where
other therapies are not.
The health
education authority has stated that research shows that
there is more scientific evidence for hypnotherapy than any
other complimentary therapy.
By using
hypnosis people can perform prodigious feats of willpower
and self healing.
What is
Hypnosis?
Hypnosis can
be described as nothing more that a natural state of deep
relaxation. It is a natural brain wave state that we enter
into many times a day, for example; have you ever driven
along a road and can only remember part of the journey or
when we are watching TV you don't remember part of the
programme or when you are reading a book and can't remember
the last page you read.
When we are
watching TV we drift in and out of trance and it is then we
are most susceptible to advertisements, which is why they
are placed in the middle of programmes.
The trance
state is when both mind and body are
totally relaxed, and contrary to what stage shows would have
you believe, you are in control at all times. You can only
accept suggestions that are in accord with your own values. |
